Tomasz Olszewski, Ph.D.

He specialises in intellectual property protection within the life sciences sector, with a particular focus on the chemical industry. He is an expert in organic chemistry, catalysis and the design of bioactive compounds. He conducts prior art searches, assesses the patentability of solutions, and supports research and development projects in the processes of protecting and commercialising R&D results. In his work, he combines an academic background with a practical approach to technological issues, supporting clients in the effective protection and commercial exploitation of intellectual property.

  
A graduate of Wrocław University of Technology (2002), where he obtained his PhD (2006, a joint PhD with the University of Montpellier, France), and subsequently his postdoctoral degree in chemical sciences (2016). For over two decades, he has been engaged in research and teaching in the fields of modern organic synthesis, supramolecular chemistry and catalysis. His research work includes, among other things, the design and synthesis of new organic compounds and the development of catalytic methodologies. His scientific output comprises nearly 80 articles published in peer-reviewed journals listed in the JCR (https://orcid.org/0000-0001-8243-9313, over 1,000 independent citations, h-index = 23). In addition, he has authored 4 book chapters, holds 21 national patents, and has delivered numerous conference presentations both in Poland and abroad. He has completed a number of long-term research placements at institutions abroad, including in France, Denmark, Spain and Greece.
