Dominik Czaplicki, Ph.D.

Expert in life sciences and cooperation with foreign partners.

An expert in the field of natural sciences and cooperation with foreign partners.

He graduated in biotechnology (2003) from the Jagiellonian University and obtained his Ph.D. in biological sciences (2009) from the same university. He has research experience in the fields of biochemistry, biotechnology and cancer biology.

In 2008-2012 he worked at the Center for Innovation, Technology Transfer and University Development (CITTRU), where he was responsible for creating the technological offer of the Jagiellonian University in life sciences, and on this occasion he gained additional experience related to the protection of industrial property rights.

In 2011-2018, as a researcher and academic teacher at the Faculty of Biotechnology, Biochemistry and Biophysics of the Jagiellonian University, he participated in research projects in the field of medical biotechnology, and also conducted courses and workshops on intellectual property and entrepreneurship in the life science industry.

In 2018-2022, he was an investment manager at TERRA Seed (formerly ABAN Fund) – a venture fund investing in innovations at an early stage of development (seed capital). In this role, he searched for investment projects, conducted technological and financial analyses and monitored the research and development projects performed by the fund’s portfolio companies.
